Imagine yourself surrounded by azure seas and swaying coconut palms, while experiencing deep human connection and the loving kindness of Thailand.

Our Metta Retreat combines the brilliance of Anusara® yoga with the wisdom of Thai Vedic Bodywork and Ayurveda. It is designed to reawaken you to the natural source of bliss that flows when we embrace all parts of ourselves and loving kindness permeates all areas of our life. We will explore the deep connections between yoga and the Buddhist concept of Metta. The concept of ‘Metta’ (loving kindness) embraces not simply the fleeting and superficial experience of loving kindness towards oneself but the ability to emanate a true sense of loving kindness from the deep core of your being to all people and all things. Not just to feel it but to make it felt.

The unique method of Anusara® yoga provides a vibrant and highly therapeutic approach to the practice of yoga, utilising asana (physical postures) as a tool to transform not only the body, but also to create new attitudinal patterns and cultivate Metta as a quality to enhance our lives. Through experiential partner and group Thai Vedic Bodywork exercises and Ayurveda you will experience the art of wholeheartedness and find balance on and off the mat.

Each day will be a combination of meditation, philosophy, yoga and movement medicine, delicious healthy food, Ayurvedic wisdom, and playful group bodywork classes.

Barbra and Kimmana are highly experienced specialists in their respective fields and look forward to welcoming you to a week devoted to peace and bliss.

We will be staying at the beautiful eco-friendly yoga retreat centre Samahita located on the south coast of Koh Samui, right on the beach. Koh Samui is a tropical island in the Gulf of Thailand that boasts long stretches of pristine beach and unspoiled land.Samahita is located in a quiet area off the beaten track, with plenty of privacy and comfort, in lush green surroundings, yet still close to markets and amenities. The retreat centre is directly on the beach, with many rooms that have ocean views. The island of Koh Samui has many attractions, including waterfalls and temples. In your free time you can relax at the swimming pool, detox in the steam room or meditate in the meditation garden. The swimming pool is right by the beach with plenty of sun beds. As it is a saltwater pool, it is as close to natural as possible and much gentler on eyes, hair, skin, and internal organs than chlorinated water. The steam room looks out to the beach and uses a combination of thirty Thai herbs, plants, and spices gathered locally on Samui. The meditation garden has a large bodhi tree and beautiful pond with large lotus flowers for you to enjoy. The luxurious guest rooms are set back 50 metres from the sea and are perfect for quiet contemplation and relaxation. The eco-friendly buildings make use of cross ventilation, natural light, rainwater harvesting, and solar power. Regardless of which room you stay in, the yoga shala, restaurant and lounge, swimming pool, and beach are only one minute away. WIFI is available in all rooms.
